Anyway, one challenge was that the two tables (saloon and pilothouse) were off the boat to be re-varnished so they had to manage on a nice half door that Yann the Nordhavn man had cut up, edged with duct tape and generally made to look as good as half a door ever can.
Actually, we don't worry too much about damaging this one so it might make sense to keep it, even if stylistically and size wise it isn't ideal. This made feeding 4 people entertaining and cosy.
The lack of table didn't deter the female toddler though. She held onto her glass with a determined grip:
By the way, there isn't a mirror in view - behind us was another Nordhavn 47 - "Edna Rose" which lives there permanently.
The male toddler was equally capable of managing wine with little table space:
Also visible is the beautifully applied duct tape on the temporary table. Far too nice a job to be thrown away soon......
You've just seen how the camera doesn't lie - linking visitors to their favourite habits. Well, proof positive is also in view above. One of the male toddler's first questions on the phone about Hamble Point was "how good is their WiFi?" A true ipad addict. The reality is that the WiFi is expensive (free in most marinas for visitors but not with MDL of course!) and very unreliable. We think that is why the toddlers went home after a few days as we still had some wine left.
Further proof that the camera links people with their addictions came when Anne visited us. You've seen her before in some Penarth ramblings. Here, her coffee addiction shows clearly:
Finally, the Captain's strange desire to wear a pink wig and look embarrassed was also caught on camera. Yes it looks so much like a photoshop job and no it isn't:
In his defence, this was taken at a one year old's birthday party and seemed safer than the bouncy castle alternative for an ageing body. Having seen the picture, maybe broken bones would have been better.....
By the way, there have been over 21,000 page reads (ignoring search engine crawlers etc) of this rather feeble blog since it's inception. Hopefully this page will not push up that number too far and the incriminating pictures will be allowed to lie dormant on a server somewhere in Googleland (and GCHQ, the US secret services, the Chinese government etc etc of course)
